Boomerang boss comes back to site where relative worked

Monday, February 08, 2010, 09:20

ENTREPRENEUR Katy Cowan has relocated her rapidly-growing business to the site where her great-grandmother used to work.

Boomerang PR has moved from Talke to offices in a complex at Radway Green, near Alsager, which used to be part of the munitions factory there.

Katy's great-grandmother, Hannah Vasey, worked in the same complex until the 1950s.

The online PR and social media specialist said the decision to make the move had been down to location and room for expansion, rather than any family connection.

And it has coincided with a flurry of new business for Boomerang.

The firm has been taken on by Grant International, which sources ranges for fashion brands including Animal, and Alsager cricket equipment manufacturer Fusion Sports.

It has also signed deals with Wrenbury agricultural building firm Graham Heath Construction, recruitment website British Medical Jobs and London-based fertility testing business Fertility MOT.

Katy, pictured right, said: "We've won about 10 new clients in the last two months alone.

"Everything has shifted online and we recognised that. The web has changed the way people do business, the way they shop and the way they find love."
